A candidate needs 40 percent in every required subject. A high aggregate cannot cover a deficient paper. This means 40 out of 100, 30 out of 75 or 20 out of 50.
Theory and practical treatment depends on the scheme. Some technical subjects have separate components, but there is no universal Class 9 practical calculation for every student. Follow the maximum and status printed against the actual subject.

U is the policy label below 40 percent. The subject status confirms whether the paper is cleared.
Total Marks and Class 9 Weight in the Final Matric Result
The current Punjab scheme allocates 1,200 marks to complete SSC. The old 550 for Class 9 and 1,100 for Matric figures should not be used for the 2025 to 2027 scheme.
Part I and Part II combine into the final Matric record, but the Part I maximum varies by group and subject combination. Calculate the percentage from the maximum on the result card instead of assuming Part I is exactly half of 1,200.

Girls recorded higher Science pass rates in both candidate types, while private rates were lower than regular rates. The figures show a gap but do not prove its cause.
